Who We Are
Rippy Homes: Family Oriented, Local and Home-Grown
Rippy Homes has been building in the Greater Spokane area for over 10 years. We have built dozens of homes with many different goals in mind. Some of those goals have included: Small homes with big design efficiency in layout, using building methods that maximize size to cost ratios (such as attic trusses and “bonus” space), incorporating building methods to increase energy efficiency (such as SIPs, ICFs and Passive House construction).
We are always striving for better efficiency, more innovation, and higher quality. We are continually working to learn new and better ways of building. In the Spring of 2017, Cameron (owner and operator) earned his Certified Passive Home Builder credential. Passive House is a very high efficiency and low energy cost method of building, only a small number of builders in the area are Passive House Certified.
Our goal is to offer a full service building team, with expertise in not just building methods and materials, but also in finishes and style with access to designers as part of the building package. We are incredibly fortunate to work with fantastic employees and fantastic subcontractors.
Cameron and Jill Rippy have been married since December of 2001 and have five children. Both were raised in Spokane and attended college at EWU and WSU (respectively). They have been involved in construction in one form or another most of their married lives and have been building homes since 2007. Rippy Homes has done many renovations and new construction homes over the years. Cameron also has a real estate background and uses that as a tool in connection to his career as a builder.
Cameron and Jill and their kids love being outdoors. They live near Long Lake and Riverside State Park and spend their time mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, sledding, snow and water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking and enjoying the beautiful area they live in.
Site and Project Managers
Griffin Hatch and Lerrin Hatch are Rippy Homes two Project Managers. Between the two of them they have a combined total of over 20 years experience on site and building homes. They are knowledgeable and professional and both excel when given opportunities to engage their creative natures on the jobsite.
Griffin and Lerrin also happen to be part of the family as they are Jill’s oldest and youngest brothers. It has been a major strength to Rippy Homes to work with people who can be trusted without question as these two can.
Griffin and Lerrin both also live in the Nine Mile Falls area with their families and enjoy taking advantage of the outdoor opportunities available to them.
The Passive House Building Energy Standard promoted by PHIUS is one of the most rigorous building energy standards in the world. Those who have obtained the right through PHIUS to carry the graphic passive house logo and the PHIUS Certified Builder℠ designation, have committed themselves to design excellence and the passive house energy performance and quality criteria.
Certified Renovator with Northwest Independent Contractor's Association (NICA)
The purpose of the Renovation, Repair and Painting Program (RRP) is to minimize exposure from lead-based paint dust during renovation, repair, or painting activities. Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and interior demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children. Firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes, child care facilities and schools, must be certified by the Department of Commerce and use certified renovators who are trained by an approved training provider to follow lead-safe work practice.
Cameron is a Licensed Real Estate Broker, able to negotiate and arrange real estate transactions. This includes writing contracts for listing and purchasing homes, land and commercial properties.
